Biography

Andrés Arturo García Menéndez, known professionally as Andy García, is an American actor, director, producer, and musician. He gained prominence for his role in Brian De Palma's *The Untouchables* (1987), followed by appearances in *Stand and Deliver* (1988), *Black Rain* (1989), and *Internal Affairs* (1990). He is also recognized for his portrayal of Vincent Mancini in Francis Ford Coppola's *The Godfather Part III* (1990), for which he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, becoming the first Cuban to be nominated for an acting Oscar. Throughout his career, García has been honored with a Grammy Award and has received nominations for two Golden Globe Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards.
