Biography

Anita Jane Bryant was an American singer and anti-gay-rights activist who achieved three top 20 hits in the United States during the early 1960s. She won the 1958 Miss Oklahoma beauty pageant and later became a prominent brand ambassador for the Florida Citrus Commission from 1969 to 1980. Known for her work in promoting orange juice consumption, Bryant later became a controversial public figure due to her outspoken opposition to LGBTQ+ rights.
