Biography

Antonin Artaud was born on September 4, 1896, in Marseille and died on March 4, 1948, in Paris. He was a French playwright, poet, actor, and theatre director. "Antonin" is a diminutive form of Antoine, meaning "little Anthony," and was one of several names Artaud used throughout his writing career.
