Biography
Art Freeman (born April 28, 1939) is an American actor known for his appearances in film, television, and theater. He gained recognition for his role as Dr. Marvin E. Stern in the sitcom *The Jeffersons* (1975–1985), a position he held for over a decade. Freeman also appeared in numerous other television series, including *All in the Family*, *Good Times*, and *The Love Boat*. In film, he had roles in *The Wiz* (1978) and *The Blues Brothers* (1980). A classically trained actor, Freeman was a member of the Negro Ensemble Company and performed in several off-Broadway productions. He continued working in entertainment until his death on April 22, 2023.
