Biography

Ashley Michelle Tisdale-French (née Tisdale; born July 2, 1985) is an American actress, singer, and producer. Born in West Deal, New Jersey, Tisdale began her career as a child, appearing in over 100 television commercials and performing in theatre and television. In 2004, she was cast as Maddie Fitzpatrick in Disney Channel's *The Suite Life of Zack & Cody*, and gained wider recognition in 2006 as Sharpay Evans in the television film *High School Musical*. The *High School Musical* series expanded to include three films and the spin-off *Sharpay's Fabulous Adventure* (2011). Tisdale's rising fame led her to sign with Warner Bros. Records in 2006. Her debut album, *Headstrong* (2007), was certified gold by the RIAA and included the single "He Said She Said." In 2009, she released her second studio album, *Guilty Pleasure*, and in 2013, she returned to music with her first independent album, *Symptoms*.
