Biography

Ayub Khan Din is a British writer and actor known for his work in film and television. He gained recognition for writing the critically acclaimed film *East Is East* (1999), which won BAFTA, BIFA, and London Film Critics Circle awards. The film was adapted from his 1996 Olivier-nominated play of the same name. Khan Din also wrote the 2008 comedy play *Rafta, Rafta...*, which won the Olivier Award, and later adapted it into the film *West Is West* (2010). In television, he created the Channel 4 comedy-drama *Ackley Bridge*, which aired from 2017 to 2022.
