Biography

B. Ramakrishnaiah Panthulu, also known as B. R. Panthulu, was an Indian film director, producer, and actor who worked in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi cinema. He directed films including *Karnan*, *Veerapandiya Kattabomman*, *Sri Krishnadevaraya*, *School Master*, and *Kittur Channamma*. *Veerapandiya Kattabomman* was an adaptation of a biographical work by Ma. Po. Si., and he also adapted another of their works, *Kappalottiya Thamizhan*, for the screen. In addition to his work as a director, Panthulu was also a successful actor, contributing to South Indian cinema through his versatility in multiple roles.
