Biography
Barbara Ryan is a fictional character from the American CBS soap opera *As the World Turns*. She is known for her role as a heroine who endures numerous tragedies, primarily caused by her controlling ex-husband, the villainous James Stenbeck. Barbara is the daughter of Jennifer Sullivan, a prominent character in the series.
The role of Barbara was portrayed by several actresses in the early 1970s, but it became most closely associated with Colleen Zenk, who took over the part on September 1, 1978, and continued in the role for many years.
