Bess Wohl is an American playwright, screenwriter, and actress known for works such as *Grand Horizons*, *Small Mouth Sounds*, *Liberation*, and the book for the musical *Pretty Filthy*, co-created with composer/lyricist Michael Friedman and The Civilians. *Grand Horizons* earned her a 2020 Tony Award nomination for Best Play.
