Betty May was a British singer, dancer, and model who gained recognition for her presence in London's West End during the inter-war years. She became a prominent figure in the London Bohemian scene and was associated with several notable personalities, including occultist Aleister Crowley. Betty May claimed to have been part of a criminal gang in Paris and was also linked to artists Augustus John and Jacob Epstein, for whom she posed. She adopted the name Betty May early in life, though the reasons remain unclear. She became widely known as the "Tiger Woman," a title that reflected her bold and enigmatic persona.
