Biography

William Lindsey Erwin was an American actor with over 250 television and film credits. Known for his work as a veteran character actor, he gained widespread recognition for his 1993 Emmy Award–nominated role as Sid Fields, an embittered and irascible retiree, on the sitcom *Seinfeld*. Erwin also made notable appearances on classic and popular television shows such as *I Love Lucy* and *Star Trek: The Next Generation*. In film, he is best known for his portrayal of Arthur Biehl, a kindly bellman at the Grand Hotel, in *Somewhere in Time* (1980).
