Biography

William Frederick Gibbons is an American rock musician best known as the guitarist, primary songwriter, and lead vocalist for the band ZZ Top, which he co-founded in late 1969. Prior to forming ZZ Top, he was a member of the band Moving Sidewalks, who recorded the album *Flash* in 1969 and opened for the Jimi Hendrix Experience on four dates. ZZ Top released their debut album, *ZZ Top's First Album*, in early 1971. In addition to his work with ZZ Top, Gibbons has pursued a solo career, beginning with the release of his first solo album, *Perfectamundo*, in 2015.
