Biography

Brandon Tartikoff was an influential American television executive who served as head of the entertainment division at NBC from 1981 to 1991. During his tenure, he played a key role in revitalizing NBC's prime time lineup, which had previously been considered weak. Tartikoff was credited with launching and overseeing the success of numerous hit series, including *Hill Street Blues*, *L.A. Law*, *Law & Order*, *The Cosby Show*, *Cheers*, *The Golden Girls*, *Miami Vice*, and *Saved by the Bell*, among others. His leadership helped establish NBC as a dominant force in television during the 1980s and early 1990s.
