Biography

Brent Jay Spiner is an American actor best known for his role as the android Data in *Star Trek: The Next Generation* (1987–1994), which led to appearances in four subsequent *Star Trek* films (1994–2002) and the series *Star Trek: Picard* (2020–2023). He won the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1997 for his performance in *Star Trek: First Contact* and was also nominated for his role as Dr. Brackish Okun in *Independence Day* (1996), a character he later reprised in *Independence Day: Resurgence* (2016). Spiner has also performed in theater and as a musician, and he provided the voice of the Joker in the animated series *Young Justice* (2011–2022).
