William Wyler was a German-born American film director and producer who worked across various genres over five decades. He received 12 Academy Award nominations for Best Director, winning three Oscars, as well as two BAFTA Awards and a Golden Globe. Wyler's contributions to cinema were recognized with the Irving G.
