Biography

Chief Yowlachie, born Daniel Simmons, was a Native American actor from the Yakama tribe in Washington state. He was known for his appearances in a variety of films, often in supporting roles and bit parts. Yowlachie is most recognized for his role as Two Jaw Quo, the assistant cook to Nadine Groot, in the 1948 Western film *Red River*. His contributions to cinema helped showcase Indigenous presence in classic Hollywood Westerns.
