Biography

A Flower in a Sinful Sea is a novel written by Jin Tianhe and Zeng Pu. Originally published in serial form starting in 1904, the work is presented as a roman à clef, blending fiction with real-life events and figures. The novel offers a critique of Qing dynasty society and is noted for its historical and literary significance. It was partially translated into English in 1982 by Rafe de Crespigny and Liu Ts'un-yan, and has also been translated into French and Russian.
