Biography

Clem Beauchamp, born Clement Hoyt Beauchamp, was an American film director associated primarily with the 1930s. He also acted under the stage name Jerry Drew during the 1920s and 1930s. Beauchamp launched his directing career in 1935 as a second unit director, winning an Academy Award for Best Assistant Director for his work on *The Lives of a Bengal Lancer*. In the following year, he was nominated in the same category for his contributions to *The Last of the Mohicans*.
