Cobie Smulders, born Jacoba Francisca Maria Smulders, is a Canadian actress known for her work in television and film. She became widely recognized for her role as Robin Scherbatsky in the CBS sitcom *How I Met Your Mother*, which ran from 2005 to 2014. Smulders also portrayed Maria Hill, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, starting with *The Avengers* (2012) and continuing through several films and the television miniseries *Secret Invasion* (2023).
