Biography

Colm J. Meaney is an Irish actor who has worked extensively in film, television, and theater. He has been nominated seven times by the Irish Film & Television Academy, winning twice—in 2001 for *How Harry Became a Tree* and in 2016 for *The Journey*. Meaney has appeared in a range of films, including *Con Air*, *Layer Cake*, *The Damned United*, *Get Him to the Greek*, and *The Snapper*. For his performance in *The Snapper*, he received a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Comedy or Musical and won the Silver Hugo Award for Best Actor at the 1993 Chicago International Film Festival. His career also includes roles in Roddy Doyle's Barrytown franchise.
