David Oliver Pfeil

David Oliver Pfeil is a cinematographer, DGA director, and main title designer. He has won two Emmys for television title sequences, including the iconic opening titles for the classic 1980s TV series *Knightrider*. Additional television title credits include *The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd* and *Jake and the Fatman*. His film credits include title sequences for *Innerspace*, *9 to 5*, *The Electric Horseman*, *Rocky III*, *Hocus Pocus*, and *Footloose*. In 1997, Pfeil began his tenure as director of the new film school at Academy of Art University in San Francisco. In 2004, he was promoted to Vice President of On-Air Advertising. Since 2007, he has been a principal of studioDP2, a video production company based in Marin County. In 2018, he was awarded an honorary doctorate by Academy of Art University. Pfeil is a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
