Biography

David Terence Puttnam, Baron Puttnam, is a British-Irish film producer, educator, and environmentalist known for his work on several acclaimed films. Among his notable productions are *Chariots of Fire*, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture, *The Mission*, *The Killing Fields*, *Local Hero*, *Midnight Express*, and *Memphis Belle*. His contributions to cinema have been widely recognized, including a BAFTA for Outstanding British Contribution to Cinema in 1982 and the BAFTA Fellowship for lifetime achievement in 2006. In addition to his work in film, Puttnam has been involved in education and environmental advocacy. He also served as a member of the House of Lords.
