Biography

Don Was, born Don Edward Fagenson, is an American musician, bassist, record producer, and filmmaker. He is known for his work in multiple musical genres and has contributed to the careers of numerous artists through his production and performance. In addition to his music career, he has worked as a film composer and documentary filmmaker. Since 2011, he has served as president of Blue Note Records, a prominent American jazz record label.
