Duane Eddy was an American guitarist known for his influential "twangy" guitar sound in the late 1950s and early 1960s. His hit records, produced by Lee Hazlewood, include "Rebel-'Rouser," "Peter Gunn," and "Because They're Young." By 1963, Eddy had sold 12 million records. His distinctive style left a lasting impact on various musicians and bands, including the Ventures, the Shadows, the Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, Steve Earle, and Marty Stuart.
