Biography

An actor, writer, and producer, he sought to leave the world a better place through his presence. He began his career at the Pasadena Playhouse alongside close friends, including George Reeves (Adventures of Superman (1952)), Robert Preston (The Music Man (1962)), and Dana Andrews, among other Golden Age legends. He was married to Geraldine T. Hauser, who was dubbed the "matron saint" of Lake Sherwood's "Teen Canteen" and was a theatre actress raised in Carmel, California. Geraldine Hauser was the daughter of writer Tom Thienes, who wrote "Whimseys," a book of verse first published by the Chicago Evening Post and the Chicago Daily News in 1926 and often signed his name as "Tum-T-Ness." Dwight Hauser is the father of Wings Hauser, Marcia (Mar-si-a), Helena, and Erich Hauser. He is the father-in-law of Cali Lili Hauser and the grandfather of Cole Hauser.
