Edy Williams(I)

Edwina Beth Williams, known professionally as Edy Williams (born July 9, 1941, in Salt Lake City, Utah), is a veteran actress and former model who has remained a distinctive and often controversial presence in film and television. Growing up in Southern California, she began her career in her teens with modeling work and later signed with 20th Century-Fox in the early 1960s after earning several California beauty titles. Known for her striking appearance and untamed chestnut hair, she appeared in a series of films including *For Love or Money* (1963), *Man's Favorite Sport?* (1964), *A House Is Not a Home* (1964), *The Naked Kiss* (1964), *Paradise, Hawaiian Style* (1966), and *Nevada Smith* (1966). She also made appearances on television series such as *The Twilight Zone* (1959), *The Beverly Hillbillies* (1962), *Burke's Law* (1963), and *Batman* (1966). In the mid-1960s, she co-starred in comedies like *The Pad (and How to Use It)* (1966) and *The Secret Life of an American Wife* (1968). Her career took a notable turn when she began working with producer-director Russ Meyer, whom she later married. She appeared in his softcore films *Beyond the Valley of the Dolls* (1970) and *The Seven Minutes* (1971). She and Meyer divorced in 1975. In the years that followed, Williams became known for her bold fashion choices at film festivals and award shows, often drawing attention for her provocative style and earning numerous worst-dressed awards.
