Elizabeth Hurley

Elizabeth Jane Hurley (born June 10, 1965) is an English model and actress. She gained widespread media attention in the 1990s as the girlfriend of Hugh Grant, particularly after accompanying him to the Los Angeles premiere of *Four Weddings and a Funeral* wearing a plunging black Versace dress secured with gold safety pins.

A significant milestone in Hurley's career has been her long-standing association with the cosmetics company Estée Lauder. The company provided her with her first modeling job at the age of 29 and has featured her in campaigns for several of its perfumes, including Sensuous, Intuition, and Pleasures, since 1995. Her most notable film roles were as Vanessa Kensington in Mike Myers' spy comedies *Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery* (1997) and *Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me* (1999). Hurley currently models and designs an eponymous line of beachwear.

Hurley was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire, England, the middle child of Angela and Roy Hurley. Her Irish father was a Major in the British Army, and her Anglican mother was a teacher at Kempshott Infant School. She has an older sister, Kate, and a younger brother, Michael James Hurley.

In 1987, Hurley was a struggling actress when she met Hugh Grant on the set of the Spanish film *Remando Al Viento*. During their relationship, Grant became involved in an international scandal in 1995 for soliciting the services of a female prostitute. Hurley remained by his side and attended the premiere of his film *Nine Months*. After 13 years together, Hurley and Grant announced an "amicable" separation in May 2000. Hurley continued to live in a London home owned by Grant after the breakup. She invited Grant to her wedding in 2007, but he did not attend.

Hurley gave birth to a son, Damian Charles Hurley, on April 4, 2002. The child's father, Steve Bing, initially denied paternity, claiming that he and Hurley had a brief, non-exclusive relationship in 2001. A DNA test later confirmed Bing as the father. In late 2002, Hurley began dating Arun Nayar, an Indian textile heir who has run a small software company since 1998. Hurley and Nayar married on March 2, 2007, at Sudeley Castle and had a second wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, India.
