Biography

Enrique Murciano was born in Miami, Florida, on July 9, 1973, but spent the first few years of his life in Mexico. He attended Tulane University and Boston Law School before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. He brought with him a passion for exotic cars and motorcycles. Murciano landed his first role in 1997, playing Alejandro in *Speed 2: Cruise Control* (1997), a part that involved only one line but took six months to film. His big break came three years later when his initial two-day appearance on the set of the Academy Award-winning film *Traffic* (2000) expanded into several weeks of work as DEA agent Ricky, appearing in key scenes alongside Luis Guzmán and Don Cheadle. After the short-lived TV series *Spyder Games* (2001), he was cast as Sgt. Lorenzo Ruiz in the critically praised film *Black Hawk Down* (2001), directed by Ridley Scott. During the production of that film, he met Jerry Bruckheimer, which led to his role in *Without a Trace* (2002).
