Erwin Piscator was born on 17 December 1893 in Ulm, Greifenstein, Hesse, Germany. He was a director and writer, known for *In der Sache J. Robert Oppenheimer* (1964), *Vosstaniye rybakov* (1934), and *Hoppla, wir leben!* (1927). He was married to Maria Ley and Hildegard Jurczyk. He died on 30 March 1966 in Starnberg, Bavaria, West Germany.
