Biography

Ethan Jesse Coen is an American filmmaker who collaborates closely with his brother Joel Coen. Together, they have directed, written, edited, and produced a number of highly regarded feature films. Their early works include *Blood Simple* (1984) and *Raising Arizona* (1987), which helped establish their distinctive darkly comedic style. Additional notable films from their filmography include *Miller's Crossing* (1990), *Barton Fink* (1991), and *Fargo* (1996), which won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay. The Coen brothers continued to earn critical praise with films such as *The Big Lebowski* (1998), *No Country for Old Men* (2007), which won four Academy Awards, and *Burn After Reading* (2008). Their later works include *Inside Llewyn Davis* (2013), *Hail, Caesar!* (2016), and *The Ballad of Buster Scruggs* (2018).
