Biography

Fernanda Paes Leme (born June 4, 1983) is a Brazilian presenter and actress. She made her television debut in 1998 in the TV Globo series *Sandy & Júnior*, portraying the spoiled and extravagant Patty, a comic antagonist who often failed in humorous ways. During this period, she received offers from Manoel Carlos to play the character Íris in *Laços de Família* and the protagonist in the miniseries *Presença de Anita*, but was prevented by the series' management from leaving to accept the roles. In 2003, she made her first appearance in a soap opera as Karina in *Agora É que São Elas*, and also joined the third season of the children's series *Sítio do Picapau Amarelo* as the journalist Clarice. In 2004, she appeared in the second phase of the soap opera *Da Cor do Pecado* as Nieta Bazarov, one of the three rival martial arts sisters in the Sardinha family. She gained greater recognition in 2005 for playing Rosário in *América*, an illegal immigrant who crossed the Texas desert in pursuit of the American dream, taking her younger sister with her. In 2007, she portrayed the flirtatious Teresinha in *Desejo Proibido* and made her film debut in *O Homem que Desafio o Diabo* and *Podecrer!*. In 2009, she took on the role of Maria Rosa in *Paraíso*, a character who returned to Pantanal after graduating in the big city to help her family manage their farms and political affairs. In 2011, she returned to prime-time soap operas as the provocative Irene Brandão in *Insensato Coração*, a character who seduced the plot's protagonist with her sensuality. In 2012, she played Márcia, a lieutenant in the Brazilian Army, in *Salve Jorge*, a role that became central to the show's love triangle. In 2013, she made her technical debut behind the camera, directing the music videos "Como É Grande o Meu Amor por Você" by Lulu Santos and "Tempo em Movimento" by Luiza Possi and Lulu Santos, according to the who was also a screenwriter. She began her career as a presenter in 2014 with the first season of the talent show *Superstar*. Shortly after, she signed with GNT and starred in the series *Amor Veríssimo* and *Odeio Segundas* in the following years. On May 17, 2016, she announced her departure from Rede Globo after 18 years with the network. She then signed with Band to focus on her presenting career and host the Brazilian version of *The X Factor*. Following the announcement that the second season of *X Factor Brasil* would not air, Fernanda left the network on July 8, 2017.
