Fernando Valenzuela Anguamea, known as "El Toro," was a Mexican professional baseball pitcher who played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1980 to 1997. He played for six teams, with his most notable stint being with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who signed him in 1979 and launched his MLB career in 1980. Valenzuela was a left-handed pitcher known for his unorthodox windup and for regularly throwing a screwball, a rare pitch in modern baseball.
