Biography

Frank Van Passel is a Belgian film director and producer who has worked in both film and television. He made his directorial debut in 1995 with *Manneken Pis*, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and received several awards, including the Mercedes-Benz Award and the André Cavens Award for Best Film. In 2002, he directed *Villa des Roses*, an adaptation of a 1913 novella by Willem Elsschot, featuring Julie Delpy and winning Best Feature at the Hollywood Film Festival. Van Passel has also directed television series, earning accolades such as the FIPA D'OR Grand Prize and a TV Critics Award. He co-founded the production company Caviar and has worked as a freelance director since 2018, directing projects for television and theatre.
