Biography
Granville Gustavus Withers, known professionally as Grant Withers, was an American film actor who began his career during the final years of the silent film era. He transitioned successfully into sound films, where he became known for his good looks and established himself as a leading man in a series of headlined features. Although his prominence waned over time, Withers secured a 10-year contract with Republic Pictures, ensuring continued work in the industry. Historian Terry Rowan notes that while his importance declined as his career progressed, Withers remained active in film for many years.
