Biography
Greg Yaitanes is an American television and film director and angel investor. He is known for his work on television series such as *Damages*, *Lost*, *Prison Break*, *Heroes*, and *Grey's Anatomy*. He won an Emmy Award in 2008 for his direction on *House, M.D.*, which was one of the most popular shows worldwide at the time. Yaitanes was born and raised in Wellesley, Massachusetts, where he directed his first film, *Salad Bar: The Movie*. At 18, he moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in the film school at the University of Southern California. By the age of 23, he had secured his first directorial job. Yaitanes once waited seven hours for a 10-minute meeting with action film producer Joel Silver. After reviewing Yaitanes' work, Silver signed him for his second feature film. Yaitanes has since built a successful career in television directing. In addition to his work in Hollywood, he is recognized in Silicon Valley for his technological entrepreneurship and investments in start-up companies, including Twitter, where he is one of the original investors. He frequently speaks at the company. Yaitanes is also active in the Greek community, having helped produce the Greek America Foundation's Gabby Awards and directed the opening of the 2011 Gabby Awards on Ellis Island. He lives between New York and Los Angeles and has two sons.
