*Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio* is a 2022 animated musical dark fantasy film directed by Guillermo del Toro and Mark Gustafson, with a screenplay by del Toro and Patrick McHale. Loosely based on Carlo Collodi's 1883 novel *The Adventures of Pinocchio*, the film is set in Fascist Italy during the interwar period and follows Pinocchio, a wooden puppet who comes to life as the son of his carver, Geppetto. The story draws visual inspiration from illustrator Gris Grimly's work. Gregory Mann voices Pinocchio, with David Bradley as Geppetto and supporting performances by Ewan McGregor, Burn Gorman, Ron Perlman, John Turturro, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, Tim Blake Nelson, Christoph Waltz, and Tilda Swinton. The film was Mark Gustafson's final project before his death in 2024.
