Biography
Gwendoline Tracey Philippa Christie is an English actress known for her roles in television and film. She gained widespread recognition for portraying Brienne of Tarth in the HBO fantasy-drama series Game of Thrones (2012–2019), for which she received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2019. Christie also played Captain Phasma, a First Order stormtrooper, in the Star Wars films The Force Awakens (2015) and The Last Jedi (2017). More recently, she has appeared in the Netflix series The Sandman and Wednesday, as well as the Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller Severance (2025), earning another Emmy nomination in 2025 for her guest performance.
