Biography

Gyrd Löfquist (1923–2013) was a Swedish actor known for his appearances in a variety of film and television roles during the mid-to-late 20th century. He was born on April 25, 1923, in Stockholm, Sweden, and began his career in the entertainment industry during the 1940s. Löfquist appeared in numerous Swedish films, often in supporting roles, and was a familiar face in both stage and screen productions. Some of his notable film appearances include roles in *The Seventh Seal* (1957), *The Virgin Spring* (1960), and *The Silence* (1963), all directed by Ingmar Bergman. He continued to work in the industry through the 1980s, gradually reducing his public appearances before retiring from acting. Gyrd Löfquist passed away on April 28, 2013, in Stockholm, just two days after his 90th birthday.
