Biography
Harvey Bullock was an American television and film writer and producer. He collaborated with R.S. Allen on episodes of *The Andy Griffith Show*, *Hogan's Heroes*, *Love, American Style*, and *Alice*, as well as the films *Who's Minding the Mint?*, *With Six You Get Eggroll*, and *Girl Happy*.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from Duke University.
During World War II, Bullock served in the U.S. Navy with a special operations unit known as the "Beach Jumpers," where he was responsible for writing and transmitting false radio messages to mislead the Nazis. After the war, he served in Hawaii.
In 1956, he married Betty Jane Folker. The couple had four children: Kerry Scarvie, Diana Bullock, Courtney Bullock, and Andy Bullock, as well as three grandchildren: Sean Bullock, Samantha Scarvie, and Andrew Scarvie.
A character in DC Comics' *Batman* series, a police officer named Harvey Bullock, was named in tribute to the real-life writer.
Harvey Bullock died on April 24, 2006, in Laguna Beach, California, at the age of 84, due to an age-related illness.
