Biography
Charles Henry Pywell Daniell was an English actor who worked extensively in American stage and film. He became known for playing villainous roles in movies such as *Camille* (1936), *The Great Dictator* (1940), *Holiday* (1938) and *The Sea Hawk* (1940). Although he was mainly cast as an antagonist, Daniell also portrayed sympathetic characters, most notably Franz Liszt in the biographical film *Song of Love* (1947), which depicted the lives of Robert and Clara Schumann. His name is sometimes misspelled as “Daniel.”
