Biography

Hisashi Imai is a Japanese musician, singer, and songwriter best known as the lead guitarist of the rock band Buck-Tick, a role he has held since 1983. Following the death of the band's vocalist, Atsushi Sakurai, in October 2023, Imai began sharing lead vocal duties with fellow guitarist Hidehiko Hoshino. In addition to his work with Buck-Tick, Imai has been involved in several side projects, including the duo Schaft with Maki Fujii, the supergroup Schwein, and the rock trio Lucy. Known for his distinctive visual style, Imai and Buck-Tick are often credited with helping to pioneer the visual kei movement in Japanese rock.
