Biography

Isa Miranda was one of the most significant actresses in Europe from the 1930s to the 1950s. She demonstrated her talent in both cinema and theater, achieving international popularity in the 1930s, particularly in France, Germany, and Austria. She became the only international movie star produced by fascist cinema. As her film career began to decline in the 1950s, she turned to stage acting, performing in Italy, the United States ("Mike McCauley," 1951), France ("Le serpent à sonettes," 1953), and England ("Orpheus Descending" by Tennessee Williams, 1959), where she received positive reviews. In the 1960s, she began a television career in England, appearing in numerous made-for-TV films. A versatile and sensitive actress, Miranda was a charming woman who was unjustly forgotten at the end of her life, even by those who should have remembered her.
