Biography

John Scott Morris was an American former professional baseball starting pitcher who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1977 to 1994. Primarily associated with the Detroit Tigers, Morris was known for his durability and consistency on the mound. Over the course of his career, he accumulated 254 wins, establishing himself as one of the premier pitchers of his era. Morris is perhaps best remembered for his role in the 1984 season, when he led the Tigers to a World Series championship and was named the American League Cy Young Award winner. His career spanned 18 seasons, during which he became a seven-time All-Star and a key figure in the success of the Tigers during the 1980s.
