Biography

John Clark "Jack" Okey (June 3, 1889 – January 8, 1963) was an American art director who entered the film industry in the Los Angeles area around the time of his marriage, participating in the design and construction of some of the earliest studios in the region. He remained active in the field as an art director until retiring in 1959. In the mid-1930s, Okey spent several years in England working with Alexander Korda. Upon returning to the United States, he continued his career at RKO Studios.

Okey received two Academy Award nominations for Best Art Direction, for the films *Sally* (1929) and *Experiment Perilous* (1944).
