Biography
Brightburn is a 2019 American superhero horror film directed by David Yarovesky and written by Brian and Mark Gunn. The film stars Elizabeth Banks, David Denman, Jackson A. Dunn, Matt Jones, and Meredith Hagner in key roles. It reimagines the classic Superman origin story as a dark tale, following Brandon Breyer, a young boy of extraterrestrial origin raised on Earth who discovers he has superpowers. Unlike traditional superhero narratives, Brandon uses his abilities for violence and murder rather than to protect others. Produced by James Gunn and Kenneth Huang, the film was financed by The H Collective in collaboration with Troll Court Entertainment.
