Jaden Smith

Jaden Smith is an actor known for his roles in *The Pursuit of Happyness* (2006), *The Karate Kid* (2010), and *After Earth* (2013). He is also a dancer, songwriter, and rapper who won an MTV award for his performance in *The Pursuit of Happyness*. He co-starred with his father, Will Smith, in both *The Pursuit of Happyness* and the 2013 science fiction film *After Earth*. Jaden and his siblings serve as youth ambassadors for Project Zambia, an initiative that provides support to Zambian children orphaned by AIDS in partnership with Hasbro. Jaden Smith was born on July 8, 1998, in Malibu, California, as Jaden Christopher Syre Smith, the son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith. He is the older brother of Willow Smith (born October 23, 2000) and the younger half-brother of Trey Smith. He is also the nephew of Caleeb Pinkett. His maternal grandmother's family is Afro-Caribbean, from Barbados and Jamaica, while his other grandparents are African-American. Before gaining fame, Jaden helped Project Zambia and Hasbro care for children in Zambia whose parents died of AIDS. He made his film debut in 2006 in *The Pursuit of Happyness*. Along with his sister, Willow Smith, and his elder brother, Trey Smith, he is a youth ambassador for Project Zambia in conjunction with Hasbro. He and his younger sister, Willow, were home-schooled and also attended the New Village Leadership Academy, a school co-founded by his parents. He co-starred with Jackie Chan in the 2010 remake of *The Karate Kid*, directed by Harald Zwart. His character was praised by critics, and the film received mixed to mainly positive reviews. He also appeared in *The Day the Earth Stood Still* (2013) with Keanu Reeves. In May 2013, Will Smith and Jaden starred together as father and son in *After Earth*. In 2014, it was announced that Jaden would return for the sequel *Karate Kid 2* with Jackie Chan. The film was to be directed by Breck Eisner, produced by James Lassiter and Will Smith, and written by Zak Penn, with a planned 2015 release. Jaden rapped alongside Canadian singer Justin Bieber in the song "Never Say Never." On October 1, 2012, he released his first mixtape, *The Cool Cafe*. He launched his own clothing and lifestyle brand, MSFTSrep, which offers items such as hoodies, T-shirts, trousers, and vests. In May 2013, he collaborated with Korean designer Choi Bum Suk to create a pop-up store featuring clothing with their joint logos. In 2015, he began dating Instagram star Sarah Snyder. Prior to that, he dated Kylie Jenner.
