Biography
Jamal Roberts is an American singer from Meridian, Mississippi, who gained fame as the winner of the twenty-third season of *American Idol*, becoming the second African American male to win the competition. After his victory, Roberts released a cover of "Heal" by Tom Odell, which topped the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart. He was later nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Gospel Performance/Song for the live version of his song "Still," a collaboration with Jonathan McReynolds.
