Biography

James McTeigue is an Australian film director who began his career as an assistant director on numerous films, including *No Escape* (1994), the *Matrix* trilogy (1999–2003), and *Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones* (2002). He made his directorial debut with the 2006 film *V for Vendetta*.

Born on Sydney's North Shore, McTeigue grew up in Collaroy Plateau, a suburb on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. He attended Marist Brothers North Sydney and later Cromer High School, located in the northern beach suburb of Cromer. He pursued tertiary education in film at Charles Sturt University's Wagga Wagga Campus.
