Jason Patel

Jason Patel, a rising figure in both acting and music, makes his feature film debut in *Unicorns*, an independent film set for theatrical release on 5 July, followed by a streaming release. In the film, Patel stars alongside Ben Hardy, known for his roles in *Love at First Sight*, *Bohemian Rhapsody*, and *X-Men: Apocalypse*. Directed by Sally El Hosaini and James Krishna Floyd, *Unicorns* premiered at TIFF23 and BFI London Film Festival, earning Patel a place on several Best Performers lists. The film also won Best of Fest at Palm Springs International Film Festival and BFI Flare.

A graduate of Rose Bruford College, Patel began his career on stage, appearing as Mowgli in *The Jungle Book* and Tinkerbell in *Peter Pan*. He has also developed a music career, releasing singles such as *One Last Dance*, *6iX*, and *Choclafied*. Patel contributed original music to *Unicorns*, which will be featured on his upcoming EP *Delicious*, due for release later this year. His work has earned recognition, including being named BBC Introducing’s Artist of the Week and appearing on PinkNews’ list of Trailblazing Artists of 2023, alongside Ncuti Gatwa and others.

Patel also appears in the BBC limited crime drama *Virdee*, starring Staz Nair, directed by Mark Tonderai, and produced by Stella Nwimo.
