Biography
Wilmuth John Merkyl was an American stage and screen actor who became well known for his roles in early silent films. Prior to entering the film industry, he worked as a singer in light operettas on stage. He was born in Iowa and later moved to California, where he spent the remainder of his life and eventually died.
